Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in the aerospace industry, focusing on turbojet engine manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all suppliers meet our stringent quality standards and contribute to the overall success of our products. They will be familiar with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) concepts and have experience implementing those concepts with suppliers. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional critical thinking skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Successful candidate profile:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and standards, particularly related to turbojet engines.
- Initiative-taker with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40% of the time).
- Due to the nature of PBS Aerospace’s business as a defense contractor, this position is limited to U.S. citizens, as defined under applicable federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in quality (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and materials used in jet engine production.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics within the aerospace sector.

- Oversee procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management.
- Manage logistics and distribution networks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with production schedules and quality standards.

- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve operational excellence.
